Russia will diversify its energy supplies if Europe refuses to cooperate. This was stated by the First Deputy Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky.

„We all see that gas prices are rising, but this is not what we intend to do – this is a direct consequence of European policy. Many achievements of the European economy, and above all the German economy, have been made thanks to very low gas prices – long-term contracts with Russia „, – the diplomat said on TNT Radio.

Polyansky stressed that the long-term substitution of Russian supplies will lead to higher gas prices and will affect the national economies of European countries, the standard of living, and the well-being of citizens.

According to the diplomat, energy cooperation with Europe is a „good, neighborly” option. However, Russia, if necessary, can diversify its exports.
